The Commission warned that the renewed confrontation risks worsening instability in an already volatile Middle East region.
The African Union (AU) Commission has expressed deep concern over the renewed escalation of tensions between the United States and Iran, warning that further hostilities could threaten global peace and negatively impact African economies.
In a communiqué issued on Thursday, the AU Commission said the latest developments came despite ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions and finding a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
The Commission warned that the renewed confrontation risks worsening instability in an already volatile Middle East region.
