Veteran midfielder Linda Mntambo has officially blown the final whistle on a professional career that spanned more than a decade, but for him, retirement is about more than football.
After more than a decade on the pitch, Linda Mntambo has officially called time on his playing career.
The 37-year-old midfielder and captain of Sekhukhune United announced his retirement on social media, bringing the curtain down on a journey that began with a dream and ended with gratitude, reflection and a few tears.
For Mntambo, the decision was not only about football. It was also about family.
"Growing up as a young boy, I've always wanted to turn professional and having lived that dream for the past 13 years since 2013 has been a journey worth celebrating," he said.
