Former Liverpool striker Divock Origi is retiring from professional football at the age of 31, bringing to an end a career that produced some of the club's most memorable moments.
In a heartfelt social media post, the Belgian said he felt his journey as a player had reached its natural conclusion, thanking supporters, teammates, coaches and family for their support throughout his career.
Origi said he had fulfilled his childhood dream of playing on the biggest stages and winning major trophies, while also acknowledging his experiences with Belgium's national team and his Kenyan roots.
"My purpose in the game as a player is fulfilled," he wrote, adding that he is looking forward to the next chapter of his life.
