Table View police launch coroner’s inquest after head boy’s fatal head injury.

Table View police have registered an inquest following the death of Parklands College head boy Connor Niske, who passed away due to a bullet wound sustained to his head.

Police confirmed that SAPS responded to an incident at a medical facility around 00:51am on June 7.

"Police reports state that when the members attended to the complaint they found a body of a 17-year-old male victim who had passed on upon his arrival at the nearby hospital due to the bullet wound sustained on his head," police spokesperson Thembakazi Mpendukana said.

The teenager's death sent shockwaves among those who knew him, with many struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of a life filled with promise.
