Representatives of the board of directors of the Hellenic Supermarket Association met Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos on Wednesday. According to the association, both sides expressed their commitment to supporting households through coordinated measures aimed at helping to keep living expenses in check in the coming months.

They also stressed grocers’ efforts to absorb a significant share of inflationary pressures and keep prices as low as possible, despite rising costs linked to the Middle East conflict.

They noted that prices for packaged foods and other consumer goods sold in Greek supermarkets remain significantly below the European average.
