Fulham is in conversations with Alvaro Arbeloa about becoming the club’s next head coach, following Marco Silva’s departure to Benfica. The West London club is moving quickly to fill a vacancy left by one of its most successful recent managers.
Silva spent five years at Craven Cottage, arriving in 2021 and overseeing a meaningful transformation of the club’s trajectory. He’s now headed to Lisbon on a two-year deal with Benfica, leaving Fulham to find someone capable of sustaining that momentum.
From the Bernabeu to the Cottage
Arbeloa transitioned into coaching at Real Madrid, working his way through the club’s youth academy structure starting in 2020. Over that six-year period, he guided various age-group teams and collected multiple titles in the process.
Arbeloa stepped into the role of first-team coach at Real Madrid on January 12, 2026, serving in an interim capacity through the end of the 2025-26 season. He parted ways with Real Madrid after the season concluded, making him available at precisely the moment Fulham needs a new face in the dugout.
