Court document arraigning Rivers school proprietress
The Rumuepirikom Police Division of the Rivers State Police Command, on Wednesday, arraigned Mrs Orjiugo Udeala, proprietress of Phronesis Nursery, Primary and Secondary School, located along NTA Road, Rumokwuta, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, before a Magistrate’s Court over the alleged assault of a 16-year-old male student of the school.
According to the charge sheet obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday, marked Charge No. REMC 94 C/2026 and signed by CSP Ahmed Umar, the accused was charged with conspiracy and assault occasioning harm.
The first count of the charge reads: “That you, Orjiugo Udeala (female), and one other person now at large, on June 8, 2026, at Phronesis Nursery, Primary and Secondary School, NTA Road, Rumokwuta, Port Harcourt, within the Rumuepirikom Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit a felony, to wit: assault occasioning harm, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 516(A) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. II, Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria, 1999.”
The second count states: “That you, Orjiugo Udeala (female), and one other person now at large, on the same date and at the aforementioned location within the said Magisterial District, unlawfully assaulted one Gift Nwala Onyeche (male), aged 16 years and your student, by flogging him with a cane all over his body and inflicting a fist blow on his ear and head, thereby causing him harm and committing an offence punishable under Section 355 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. II, Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria, 1999.”
