Arinze, owner of Nurtured Brooks Nursery and Primary School, Ibeju-Lekki, was found guilty of a one-count charge of sexual assault by penetration.
Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, sitting in Ikeja, has convicted and sentenced a school proprietor, Benson Arinze, to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a six-year-old pupil.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Soladoye described the evidence presented by the defence as “merely self-serving” and incapable of discrediting the survivor’s testimony and other corroborative evidence led by the prosecution.
According to the prosecution, Arinze took advantage of the young pupil who stayed behind after school hours to repeatedly sexually assault her within the school premises.
