Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa State has directed all political appointees in his administration who have defected, or publicly declared support for, other political parties to resign their positions within 48 hours or face immediate termination.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor’s chief press secretary. According to the statement, the move is aimed at preserving loyalty, discipline, and the integrity of public service within the state government.
Fintiri said political office holders are expected to remain committed to the policies, programmes, and political direction of the administration under which they serve.
He warned that continued service by appointees who have aligned with rival political parties could undermine government operations and hinder effective policy implementation.
The governor further stated that such divided loyalty poses risks including sabotage, information leakage, and obstruction of government programmes and party strategies.
