Japanese firm Nidec has developed a new high-capacity in-rack cooling distribution unit (CDU).

The company this week announced it has developed a prototype In-Rack CDU with a cooling capacity of up to 300kW to cool high-density AI hardware.
The new product is Nidec’s highest-capacity In-Rack cooling solution to date. The system is compatible with OCP ORV3 rack standards.
The company will debut the new CDU at Interop Tokyo 2026 in Japan this week and aims to commence mass production in the first quarter of 2027.
