Following the death of a minor girl in Garag village of Dharwad district and in view of the allegations of Love Jihad, the police arrested two men on Wednesday.The arrested have been identified as 25-year-old Nayeem Baig Jorammanavar of Hanumanakoppa village and 22-year-old Sohail Mulla of Uppinabetageri village.The accused Nayeem was arrested in Shirahatti of Gadag district by a team led by Garag Sub-Inspector of Police Praveen Gangol. Subsequently, the team arrested his friend Sohail.The police reportedly found photographs and explicit videos in the mobile phones of the arrested men which indicate sexual exploitation of the minor girl by the accused.The girl was found dead on May 8.Earlier in the day, Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Mutalik addressing a press conference questioned the inaction of the police even after a month after the death of the minor Dalit girl. He also visited Garag village and consoled the family members of the deceased girl.Meanwhile, Hindutva outfits, including Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishat, have decided to stage an agitation in Garag village on Friday seeking stringent punishment to the accused and all those involved in the crime.
