The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has commented on the deadline for compliance with a Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling requiring the Chess Federation of Russia to cease its activities in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, which expired on 9 June.

Details: FIDE issued a press release stating that it has formally requested information from the Chess Federation of Russia on its implementation of the CAS ruling.
Quote: "In accordance with the CAS decision in case CAS 2024/A/10911, the Chess Federation of Russia was required to comply with the decision by 9 June 2026. The FIDE Council has therefore formally requested the Chess Federation of Russia to provide evidence of its compliance with the decision."
