The Government has launched a review into EV public charging after a considerable hike in prices in recent years.
The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) has this week set out its terms for the review, which will address one of the major stumbling blocks preventing mass EV adoption.
ChargeUK has estimated that the average cost to charge an electric car using the public network has increased by 38 per cent since 2021.
The review – promised as part of the Chancellor's latest Budget statement – will look at the impact of energy prices, wider cost contributors, and the options that government and industry can take to lower prices for consumers.
Recommendations made following the review will be published this autumn, ministers say.
