The National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a comprehensive framework for collaborative academic and research activities.According to an official press release, the MoU was formally signed by Prof. Rangan Banerjee, director, IIT Delhi, and NIT-T director G. Aghila, at IIT Delhi.The agreement aims to foster long-term cooperation in research, faculty and student exchange, joint supervision of research scholars, early admission pathways, credit transfer mechanisms, and accelerated postgraduate degree programmes.Under the pact, meritorious NIT-T students can pursue research projects and academic activities at IIT Delhi, with opportunities for early admission into M.Tech., MS(R), and Ph.D programmes without the requirement of GATE qualification, subject to fulfilling the prescribed academic criteria, said the release.In her address, Ms. Aghila said, “Such collaborations are essential for nurturing innovation, fostering excellence, and preparing future leaders capable of addressing national and global challenges.” The MoU will remain in force for an initial period of five years with both institutions expressing their commitment to implementing the provisions of the agreement to create an ecosystem that benefits the academic community.
