Daniel Day, 30, from Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, denies intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance during the incident on 8 March last year. CCTV footage reportedly shows Mr Day scaling the tower at approximately 7:20 am and not descending until after midnight. The demonstration is alleged to have cost the British taxpayer £67,000. The hearing regarding the charges against Mr Day is ongoing at Southwark Crown Court.
