Buying a sports car is often seen as a sign of hitting a midlife crisis. But there are three bespoke high-performance models from Porsche that are aimed at motorists who are still big kids at heart.For the premiere of the new Toy Story 5 movie in Los Angeles overnight, the German car giant’s specialist Sonderwunsch team unveiled three special models inspired by the film franchise’s main characters.Taking to the red carpet alongside the star-studded cast were a trio of 911s with design features replicating the look of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie.They have been created as part of a deal between Porsche and Disney’s Pixar that dates back four years.When this partnership came together in 2022, Porsche built a one-of-a-kind 911 to be a real-life, road-legal interpretation of Sally Carrera, the love interest of Lightning McQueen in the hit film series, Cars.When the one-off 911 Sally Special went under the hammer later that year, it sold for a whopping $3.6million.And history might repeat itself. That’s because the Toy Story 911s will be auctioned together in 2026, with proceeds supporting charities including Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross and Starlight Children’s Foundation. To mark the premiere of the new Toy Story 5 movie, Porsche has created three models that replicate the look of the franchise's main characters - including this Buzz Lightyear 911 GT3 RSThe Woody tribute car started life as a standard £115,400 911 Carrera T, but Porsche has infused it with the cowboy character’s unique details.Every single element of the car is painted rather than applied using decal stickers or vinyl graphics. In total, it took 350 man-hours to hand-finish each model, producing painstaking works of art.Woody’s Carrera T Blue paint is inspired by his denim jeans. The Sonderwunsch department even pressed real denim fabric into the wet paint to achieve an authentic fabric finish.Flashes of Coffee Black and Aurum Gold accents mirror the sheriff’s badge-emblazoned waistcoat, while red graphics pay tribute to his neckerchief.The custom five-spoke wheels, finished in black and gold, are also designed to resemble Woody’s sheriff badge.Inside the cockpit, Speed Yellow leather inserts feature a stitched red checkered pattern to replicate Woody’s shirt, while the brown vintage leather throughout the cabin evokes the look of his cowboy hat and boots.It even has Woody’s signature phrase, ‘Ride like the wind!’, pressed into the door sills. Porsche even pressed real denim fabric into the wet paint to achieve an authentic fabric finishThe Buzz Lightyear model is based on the much sportier 911 GT3 RS – the company’s flagship petrol sports car – and for obvious reasons.With the inclusion of the uprated £19,351 Weissach Package's enormous rear spoiler – taking the typical starting price to around £200,000 – this provides the ideal base to replicate Buzz’s famous deployable space suit wings.Graphics inside the hood vent mimic the buttons on Buzz’s chest panel, the Space Ranger logo sits prominently ahead of the windscreen, and ‘Lightyear’ is stamped onto the bonnet.Inside, the cockpit has been given a similar purple and green makeover and, when the doors are open, the sills glow with the character’s famous line: ‘To infinity and beyond’. The floor mats feature a black-and-white cowhide pattern, too.Like the other two 911s, illuminated door sills display her catchphrase: ‘Yee Haw!’‘Many of us – and our children – grew up watching the Toy Story films on the big screen. Celebrating this milestone is particularly rewarding, especially knowing that this initiative will ultimately support children and families in need,’ said Timo Resch, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. The last of the three cars is a 911 Targa 4 GTS – which costs from £154,400 – modified to mimic Woody’s cowgirl companion, Jessie The White Metallic paint pays homage to her shirt, while the Atacama Yellow accent under the windscreen frame mirrors the style of Jessie’s blouse The date of the auction to sell the three cars hasn't been announced, but expect the custom 911's to exceed the last Pixar-Porsche one-off sale, which hit a whopping $3.6m in 2022It has yet to be announced when the cars will be offered to the highest bidder.Given there are three unique vehicles, they could eclipse the $3.6m made by the Sally Carrera creation.Bob Pauley, production designer at Pixar Animation Studios and original designer of Buzz Lightyear, added: ‘For over 30 years, Toy Story has made people of all ages smile.
