B8 punched their ticket to the next round of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 on June 9, dispatching BIG in a 2-1 best-of-three series during the Stage 2 Swiss round. The result means BIG, one of Germany’s most recognizable Counter-Strike organizations, is out of contention at a Major being held on their home soil.
B8 secured their wins on Ancient and Overpass. BIG managed to claw back one map to force the full series, but ultimately couldn’t close the deal when it mattered most.
The B8 roster of npl, esenthial, kensizor, alex666, and s1zzi played with the kind of cohesion you need to survive a Swiss format at a Major.
BIG, for their part, fielded tabseN, faveN, blameF, gr1ks, and JDC.
The ranking gap told part of the story before the server even loaded. B8 sat at 15th globally, while BIG occupied the 30th spot.
