The Anambra State Government has awarded contracts worth over N1 billion for floodwater control and the equipping of a general hospital.
The State Government also plans to present a bill before the State House of Assembly to regulate the activities of scrap dealers across the state.
Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information, disclosed this on Tuesday in Awka, shortly after the State Executive Council meeting.
He gave a breakdown of the contracts to include: “The sum of N801,674,399.75 for the construction of a floodwater diversion channel at Ezioko, Oko-Nanka, Orumba North LGA, awarded to Lebtech Construction Ltd.”
He stated that, “The sum of N279,488,986.35 is for the supply and installation of new medical equipment & accessories at the General Hospital, Oroma Etiti awarded to Calyzid Ventures.
