Finland's Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen has rejected 14 applications by non-EU and non-EEA buyers seeking to acquire properties across the country, citing risks to national security and defence interests.
The decisions, announced on Thursday by the Ministry of Defence, affect properties located in Asikkala, Hyrynsalmi, Imatra, Laukaa, Pöytyä, Rautjärvi and Rovaniemi. The rulings are not yet legally final and remain subject to further legal procedures.
According to the ministry, the applications involved citizens of China, Ukraine, Turkey and India, as well as companies owned by citizens of those countries.
