The company said it is in discussions with armed forces in several European countries

Munich-based startup ERC System will unveil a heavy-lift drone designed for military logistics at the Berlin ILA Air Show on Wednesday, aiming to address what the company says is a critical gap in the market for uncrewed resupply aircraft.

The new “Victor U250” can carry payloads of up to 250 kilogrammes over distances of 300 kilometres at speeds of up to 250 km/h, targeting military missions that require moving supplies quickly without exposing crews to enemy fire.

“We had initial discussions with military stakeholders around 18 months ago,” ERC co-founder Maximilian Oligschläger told Euractiv. According to him, armed forces identified a gap between smaller cargo drones capable of carrying 20–50 kilogramme payloads and conventional helicopter-based logistics platforms.

“For the 250-kilogramme class, there is currently no market-available uncrewed platform capable of moving meaningful payloads over distance and at the speed required to adequately support forward military units,” he said.
