It also raised concern over repeated assaults on schools, noting that such incidents had disrupted education and left families in distress.

The Delta Past Student Leaders Community (DPSLC), popularly known as the Comrade Community, has called for the immediate resignation of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, over what it described as the worsening security situation in the country.

In a statement jointly signed by its President, Comrade Akpotoboro Oghenemaro, and Public Relations Officer, Comrade Peter Yisah, the group said it was alarmed by what it described as the continued deterioration of Nigeria’s security architecture under Ribadu’s watch.

According to the group, there has been no meaningful improvement in the safety of lives and property since he assumed office, as kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes have continued to spread across different parts of the country.

The DPSLC said kidnapping for ransom had become widespread, warning that interstate travel had become increasingly dangerous while rural communities remained exposed to persistent attacks by criminal groups.
