Some of the demonstrators were seen holding placards demanding internal reform within the party, while others called for a review of petitions allegedly submitted against the party chairman.
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from several local government areas in Lagos State on Tuesday stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly, demanding the immediate removal of the party’s state chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, over allegations of betrayal and internal marginalisation.
A source privy to the situation told SaharaReporters that the protesters came from Agege, Alimosho, Somolu, Oshodi and other parts of the state, accusing the party leadership of sidelining certain factions and manipulating political appointments within the party structure.
