US Central Command (CENTCOM) says its “forces began launching self-defense strikes against Iran”. It added that the attacks were in response to “yesterday’s downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter”.
President Donald Trump earlier said US “must respond” to the alleged attack but later seemed to downplay it, saying it “wasn’t a big deal”.
