A history-sheeter was arrested in Nungambakkam for possessing ganja intended for sale. The police seized five kg of ganja, a car, and a mobile phone from him.Acting on a tip off received by a police team led by the Inspector of Nungambakkam Police Station, officers conducted surveillance inside a cremation ground area in Nungambakkam on Monday morning.During the operation, they questioned a man who was in a car and searched the vehicle. The search revealed that ganja had been concealed inside the car.The police arrested the suspect, Praveen, 25, a resident of Nungambakkam. During investigation, the police found that Praveen had allegedly procured ganja from Andhra Pradesh through a friend and had been selling it illegally in city.Further inquiries revealed that Praveen has around 17 criminal cases pending against him at the Nungambakkam Police Station, including three murder cases, one attempt-to-murder case, narcotics-related offences, and robbery cases.
