Atlético Madrid have reportedly rejected a €150 million offer from city rivals Real Madrid for Argentine forward Julián Álvarez, according to a post obtained from Real Madrid’s website on Tuesday.
The proposed bid is said to have been tabled following an internal meeting of Real Madrid’s board, as the club continues to explore options to strengthen its attacking line with elite-level talent.
However, Atlético are understood to have swiftly dismissed the approach, pointing to the player’s importance within their sporting project and indicating that any potential deal would only be considered under the terms of a release clause.
The post read, “Real Madrid announces that, following the meeting of the Board of Directors held today, it has made an offer of 150 million euros to Club Atlético de Madrid for the federative rights of the player Julián Álvarez.
