Nobody has been held responsible. Tonya Reaves was left to bleed to death for 5 1/2 hours inside a Chicago Planned Parenthood. That abortion provider was never punished. Amber Thurman died, along with her unborn twins, after taking DIY abortion drugs given to her at an abortion facility in North Carolina.

Predictably, the pro-abortion side shifts the blame for these deaths to pro-life policies. So-called “safe and legal” abortion killed these women and their unborn children. Yet fake feminism doubles down on the lie that abortion bans cause deaths. It’s like saying smoking bans cause cancer. Negligent medical care, which includes the violence of abortion, harms and kills.

Unconscionably, this is being enabled by the Food and Drug Administration, a federal agency that ignores its own data. The FDA falsely claims that mifepristone is safe despite simultaneously acknowledging 36 reported deaths from 2000 to 2024. By “safe,” the FDA means it has completely disregarded its Adverse Event Reporting System. A peer-reviewed study of mifepristone and its resulting adverse events showed that in 2010 and 2009, Planned Parenthood’s own data reported 1,530 cases of adverse events. For this time period, the FDA’s system only included a total of 664 AEs from all reporting providers of abortion drugs.
