Banyana Banyana captain Refiloe Jane comntinues to make history after she led the Africans to their first ever victory over Japan in her 150th cap on Tuesday.

Banyana Banyana marked skipper Refiloe Jane’s special 150th cap with a historic victory, beating Japan 1-0 to become the first African senior women’s national team to defeat the Asians in an official match.

Linda Motlhalo slotted home after Jane’s delivery from a corner kick, as the former African champions responded to a 5-0 defeat in the first leg at the weekend.

Head coach Desiree Ellis freshened up her starting line-up with three alterations, handing starts to Kaylin Swart, Bongeka Gamede and Thembi Kgatlana in place of Andile Dlamini, Nonhlanhla Mthandi and Gabriela Salgado respectively.

Japan also reshuffled their team significantly, with Seiki Kiko the only player retained from the previous encounter.
