One of London's narrowest homes - barely wider than a Tube carriage - has gone on sale for £550,000.The one-bedroom house on the site of a former garage in Putney measures only 10ft 8ins wide, just two feet more than the newest tube train carriage currently in service on the underground. Based over three floors, the unique Wadham Road home has an entirely black exterior, with owner Paul Crowther's said to have briefed the designer to 'imagine it's a boat and I want maximum storage.'The property has been described as a Tardis, due to the 'surprising' 613 sq ft of internal space.Inside there is a master bedroom, a rainforest-style shower, a separate toilet, a fitted kitchen, a living area with floor to ceiling windows, a study, and a roof terrace. The house is listed for £550,000 and is self-contained with its own front door.Estate agent Russell White, of Winkworth's Putney office, handling the sale, said: 'It is a really cool house and is totally self-contained, which is hard to find at that price level in Putney.
