Micro, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises in Coimbatore have appealed to the government to provide funds under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0 without asking for collateral.This was one of the issues raised by the MSME owners at an outreach programme held at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore on June 5 regarding the scheme.While several MSME units have been approved of funds under the ECLGS, there are many applications that have not seen any progress, they added.Organised by the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Tamil Nadu, and Canara Bank, the lead bank for Coimbatore district, the programme is aimed at familiarising MSMEs, banks and industry associations about the scheme’s eligibility criteria, operational procedures, guarantee coverage and benefits.Representatives of the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC), JanSamarth/PSB Alliance, SLBC and various banks made presentations and addressed queries raised by participants during an interactive session, said an official press release.More than 300 MSME entrepreneurs, bankers, industry representatives and officials of financial institutions from Coimbatore and neighbouring districts attended the programme, the release added.
