Six personss were arrested for smuggling ganja in the district on Monday (June 8, 2026).Acting on a tip-off, the Thevoor police engaged in vehicle checks at the locality on Monday evening and stopped three two-wheelers that were headed from Edappadi. While checking the vehicles, the police found 12 kg of ganja from the two-wheelers and nabbed the six persons who came on the vehicle.They were identified as M. Bhupathi Raja (24) of Thevoor; S. Devendiran (19) of Vellandivalasu near Edappadi; S. Bhupathi (25) of Shevapet; R. Munna (28) and S. Nandha Balan (27), residents of Annathanapatti; and K. Logeswaran (27) of Ponnammapet.
