Whirlwinds lashed several parts of Thrissur district of Kerala on Tuesday (June 9, 2026), causing widespread damage to property, uprooting trees and disrupting traffic, even as heavy rain continued to batter the region.The worst-affected areas include Villadam, Vilvattom, Cheroor and Kozhukkully. Strong winds uprooted trees at multiple locations, including near the Cheroor Village Office and Milma premises, leading to severe traffic congestion. Fire and Rescue Services personnel, along with local residents, are working to clear fallen trees and restore normalcy.
