Lesotho born rapper and producer saveHXPE is opening up about the realities that shaped his latest release, "HANDOUT (Remix)".

For saveHXPE, revisiting the experiences that inspired “HANDOUT (Remix)” was never going to be easy. The Lesotho-born rapper and producer said the song comes from lived experience, shaped by hardship, ambition and the realities of growing up under pressure.

"A lot of the emotions on the record come from real experiences and real pressure. Growing up in Lesotho shaped the way that I see survival, ambition and even identity," he said.

"Revisiting that space was not easy, but I think honesty gives music its power. I did not want to romanticise the struggle. I wanted to document it in a way that feels human and truthful."

The artist recently released “HANDOUT (Remix)”, featuring acclaimed American rapper Freddie Gibbs.
