For much of his career, Guardian Angel has built his music around a simple but enduring message: faith can carry people through life’s most difficult seasons. It is a message he understands intimately.
Born Audiphaxad Peter Omwaka in Butere, Kakamega County, and raised in Nairobi’s Kibera slums, Guardian Angel’s journey has been anything but ordinary.
Long before he became one of Kenya’s most recognisable gospel voices, he was a young boy navigating hardship and uncertainty while holding on to dreams that often seemed far beyond reach.
Today, however, the award-winning gospel singer, songwriter and instrumentalist finds himself reflecting on that journey through his newly released EP, Favour, a five-track project that feels less like a collection of songs and more like a testimony of grace, resilience and gratitude.
