With the euro trading at around R19.08, accommodation is likely to be the biggest expense for most visitors.
For budget-conscious fans, Hotel de France in Port Hercule offers one of the more affordable options in Monaco. At about R3,328 a night, a seven-night stay would cost just over R23,000.
Combined with return economy-class flights from Johannesburg to nearby Nice, a general-admission ticket and modest daily meals, a week at the Monaco Grand Prix could cost a tad more than R40,000.
