MANILA, Philippines – The Visayas power grid remained under a yellow alert on Tuesday as several power plants are offline amid a projected rise in electricity demand, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said.

In an advisory, the grid operator said the yellow alert will take effect from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

NGCP added that available capacity stood at 2,644 megawatts (MW), while peak demand was projected to reach 2,457 MW during the period.
