ILOILO CITY — The Department of Education (DepEd) has deployed engineers to inspect school facilities damaged by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off Maasim, Sarangani on Monday morning, June 8.

In a statement, Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the agency immediately mobilized engineers in affected regions, particularly in DepEd Region XII, following directives from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

“We immediately mobilized our engineers in the affected regions, particularly in DepEd Regional Office XII, to inspect school facilities impacted by the earthquake,” Angara said.
