A family in Umkomaas is offering a substantial reward for information leading to the recovery of stolen high-end jewellery valued at R1,2 million and cash, following a recent burglary.

Prem Balram, the head of Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), said suspects broke into the residence and stole various valuable items, including luxury watches and cash.

“A domestic worker, who was ill and resting on the property, was unaware that the suspects had allegedly forced entry into the main building and carried out the theft.

“Rusa was contacted by the homeowner after discovering that the property had been broken into and valuables stolen. The homeowner has offered a substantial cash reward for information leading to the recovery of the stolen items and the arrest of those responsible,” he said.
