Akash here on Monday demanding to disburse the pending payment for the paddy procured from them.In Madurai district, at government procurement centres in Parapatti, Kancharampet, Velichanatham, Malaipatti, Kallandhiri, and Chatrapatti, a private company procured paddy from farmers through a contract from the Union government. In this situation, as the payment for the paddy procured from the farmers has not been made for the past four months, the farmers were struggling, having lost their livelihood and being unable to carry out agricultural activities, said the farmers.Although multiple memorandums have been submitted regarding this, the private company has not taken any action.
