The Shree Sha Souharda Society recently felicitated 120 students who have studied in government/grant-in-aid schools in Mangaluru taluk and scored 90% and above in SSLC and provided them scholarships.Inaugurating the pgoramme organised at Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mutt, mutt president Swami Jithakamananda said, “It is indeed a matter of pride that Kannada medium has been chosen amid the clamour for English medium and many have scored more than 90% marks in the SSLC final examination. It is a great pleasure that Shri Sha Society has recognised their achievements and honoured them with financial assistance.”MLA for Mangaluru City South D. Vedavyasa Kamath said, “We have seen students’ achievements recognised and provided with financial assistance. But it is meaningful and very satisfying to honour 120 talented students on such a grand scale along with providing financial assistance.”Presiding over the programme, Karnataka State Souharda Samyukta Sahakari Ltd. president G. Nanjanagouda said Shree Sha Society has set an example among 6,500-odd Souharda societies in Karnataka by giving back to society a large share of its profits through many social-oriented activities.Block Education Officers of Mangaluru James Kutina and H.R.
