All educational institutions in Kozhikode district will remain closed on Tuesday (June 9) following the declaration of a red alert amid warnings of severe weather.District Collector M.S. Madhavikutty announced the holiday on Monday (June 8) as torrential rain continued to trigger widespread waterlogging and disruptions in several parts of the district. The India Meteorological department (IMD) has warned that the heavy rainfall is likely to be accompanied by strong winds.The holiday will be applicable to schools, anganwadis, madrasas, tuition centres and professional colleges.
