The agreement was signed with TNB subsidiaries TNB Renewables and TNB Power Generation. The power is expected to be supplied by a mounted solar and hybrid hydro-floating solar (HHFS) project. TNB did not confirm which project would supply DayOne under the agreement. The electrical utility is planning a 2.5GW phased rollout of HHFS projects across various hydropower dam reservoirs in Malaysia. This includes a flagship 595MW project in Kenyir Lake, Terengganu, which is expected to be completed in late 2028.

“Today’s signing marks an important milestone in how we scale digital infrastructure responsibly,” said Jamie Khoo, CEO of DayOne. “As demand for AI and cloud infrastructure accelerates, securing long-term access to renewable energy is critical. We are proud to be TNB’s largest customer and contribute to the stability of the national grid. This partnership strengthens our ability to grow in Malaysia with greater energy resilience while supporting our customers’ sustainability ambitions.”
