(credit: Mohammed HUWAIS / AFP via Getty Images)Hours after the Houthis’ Monday attack, the group’s military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, claimed that it had targeted the Tel Aviv area.Houthis claim attack was response to 'Greater Israel' projectThe reason for the attack, he asserted, was Israel’s alleged “Greater Israel” project."Greater Israel" is an antisemitic allegation that Israel, or mainstream movements within Israel, are attempting to forcefully and surreptitiously expand Israel's state borders to those mentioned in prophetic Bible verses.Saree added that the missile launch was also an “endeavor to break the unjust and oppressive siege imposed by the American enemy on our people and the free and dear peoples of the axis in Lebanon, Gaza, and Iran.”He also cited Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Gaza, and Iran.Saree went on to announce that the Houthis had declared a full ban on Israeli maritime navigation in the Red Sea, threatening to target any “enemy” movement there. The spokesperson added that the Houthis would escalate their attacks in accordance with the escalation in the conflict between Israel and Iran and its proxy groups.Follow us on Google
