Praggnanandhaa bags 50 lakh award for historic Norway triumph, plays chess with TN CM Vijay
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay presented a special incentive award of ₹50 lakh to R. Praggnanandhaa after his landmark victory at the Norway Chess 2026 in Oslo. Praggnanandhaa etched his name in history by becoming the first Indian to win the prestigious tournament, marking a major milestone for Indian chess on the global stage. As a surprise, Vijay brought out a chess board for an impromptu game with Praggnanandhaa, which the latter won.
