The government launched its new national development plan on Monday at the Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi (TATTE) Building in Sogi, with the plan set to be taken on a public roadshow in Upolu and Savai‘i this week.
According to the Pathway for the Development of Samoa FY2026/27–FY2030/31, it sets out a five-year roadmap aimed at strengthening resilience, growing the economy, improving social outcomes and reinforcing good governance. The Minister of Finance, Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molio’o, said that the "plan is more than policies. "It is our shared promise to support our people, to grow our economy, to protect our environment, and to strengthen our nation."
The plan, also referred to as PDS2, outlines the Government’s vision for a “Highly Resilient, Inclusive, Safe and Prosperous Samoa, grounded in the Fa’a-Samoa and Faith in God.” Its theme, “Sustaining community empowerment, driving resilient growth and fostering good governance, social justice and partnerships”, places families and communities at the centre of national development.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Finance, Saoleititi Maeva Betham-Vaai, said the Pathway would be conducted on a public "roadshow" in Upolu on Monday and Tuesday, and in Savai‘i on Thursday and Friday.
