The SAPS Search and Rescue Team successfully recovered two bodies from the Crocodile River near Kamagugu in Nelspruit on Sunday.

The SAPS Search and Rescue Team recovered two bodies from the Crocodile River near Kamagugu in Nelspruit on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as a 20-year-old man and a woman estimated to be between 18 and 23 years old.

Police said the male victim was positively identified by family members. The identity of the female victim has not yet been confirmed, although a family has been located and is expected to assist with the identification process.

The bodies were found trapped inside a white SUV. Specialised rescue equipment, including the Jaws of Life, was used to extract the victims from the vehicle.
