The Karimnagar police have recovered two pistols used in the May 3 armed robbery at PMJ Jewellery Shop in Karimnagar even as the four-day police custody of the three accused in the heist case, including that of Bihar-based ‘gang leader’ Subodh Singh, ended on Sunday (June 7, 2026).Based on the confession of the two prime accused, the police seized the two pistols used in the crime from bushes near Velichala bypass road near Karimnagar on Saturday, the police said.A mobile phone that was allegedly abandoned by the accused in the Maddunur forest area in Jagtial district, has also been recovered.It may be mentioned that Subodh Singh was brought to Karimnagar on a Prisoner Transit (PT) warrant from Purnia jail in Bihar on May 28 midnight and was remanded in judicial custody the next day.Police said that the prime accused made inconsistent statements about the location where they hid the stolen gold ornaments and jewellery and the post-crime financial transactions of the gang in a bid to mislead the investigators.The Karimnagar police are planning to file a requisition before the local court seeking additional police custody of the accused for further questioning.Meanwhile, another member of the Subodh Singh gang, identified as Amar Singh alias Pailwaan, the 10th accused in the armed robbery case, was arrested by the police in Bihar’s capital Patna on Saturday. He was produced in the local court in Bihar where a Transit Warrant was obtained to bring him to Karimnagar.The second and third accused in the daylight armed robbery case - Raghunath Karmakar, 41, of West Bengal and Ravish Kumar, 23, of Bihar were already arrested by the Karimnagar police.
