The advocacy campaign comes amid growing concerns over persistent insecurity in the region, where communities have repeatedly been subjected to attacks by armed groups, kidnappers and other criminal elements, leading to deaths, displacement of residents and disruption of economic activities.
A civil advocacy coalition, the Save Kwara North Group (SKNG), has launched a sweeping grassroots mobilisation campaign across the five local government areas of Kwara North Senatorial District, declaring that political parties and aspirants seeking votes in the 2027 general elections must first present concrete solutions to the region's worsening security crisis before embarking on political campaigns.
The campaign, which is being conducted under the banner of "No Security, No Campaigns," is aimed at galvanising residents across the district to demand accountability from politicians and insist on practical commitments to security, education and human capital development before offering electoral support.
The group announced the initiative in a statement issued on Sunday and signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Abubakar Danjuma.
According to the statement, the coalition has already commenced extensive community-to-community and door-to-door sensitisation programmes across the five local government areas that make up Kwara North Senatorial District, namely Baruten, Kaiama, Moro, Edu and Patigi.
