In a video attached to the post, he also rejected claims that the majority of Ghanaians recently repatriated from South Africa had been residing in the country legally.

South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (Foreign Minister), Ronald Lamola, has criticised comments made by Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, describing his interview on a Ghanaian television station as “deeply disappointing” and “replete with misinformation.”

Lamola made the remarks in a post on his X handle on Saturday evening, where he also addressed several claims relating to migration, repatriation processes, and recent tensions involving foreign nationals in South Africa.

“A deeply disappointing interview, replete with misinformation,” he wrote.

He insisted that South African authorities had fully cooperated with the Ghanaian High Commission in managing repatriation arrangements.
