Coforge on Friday inaugurated its fourth public library in India at Vasant Kunj in New Delhi as part of its flagship corporate social responsibility initiative focused on expanding access to reading infrastructure and community learning spaces.The Coforge Public Library was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the presence of members of the local community, educationists, senior citizens, youth and children.Spread across 10,000 square feet on the first floor of Vasant Square Mall in Vasant Kunj, the library houses more than 15,000 titles across genres including fiction, business, spirituality, art, technology, photography, poetry and biographies. It also includes a dedicated children’s zone with over 4,500 books.Coforge said the library has a seating capacity of 170 people and will remain open from 9 am to 8 pm throughout the year. Entry and reading access are free, while books can be borrowed against a fully refundable deposit. Students from government schools are exempt from the deposit requirement.Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the initiative would help expand access to knowledge and opportunity. “This magnificent space is far more than just a building; it is a gateway to knowledge, equality, and opportunity,” she said.Anuradha Sehgal, chief brand and sustainability officer at Coforge, said the company selects library locations with a social objective to serve densely populated and underserved communities with limited access to quality reading infrastructure.Sudhir Singh, chief executive officer and executive director at Coforge, said the company views growth and responsibility as part of the same journey and aims to create long-term value for business and society.Coforge said it plans to further expand its network of free public libraries across India, beginning with Delhi-NCR.Published on June 7, 2026
