KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – What appeared to be an ordinary residence in Barangay Labangal in Gen. Santos City turned out to be a “secret warehouse” that concealed a sizeable cache of smuggled cigarettes, uncovered during an anti-smuggling operation, police said on Friday, June 5.
Brig. Gen. Allan Manibog, regional director for Police Regional Office (PRO-12), said law enforcement operatives carried out an operation at about 4 p.m. of June 4, leading to the discovery of a large stockpile of smuggled cigarettes inside the house of alias “Lans.”

The secret warehouse structure can be seen as an ordinary house made of light materials with walls made of bamboo sticks, locally known as “kalakat.”
